RANDOM: Dirty grammar.
written on Tuesday, Jun. 03, 2003

So I'm doing a favor (with free coffee ulterior motives) for my co-worker, and I wanted to fact-check 80s vs. 80's usage.

I turn to ever-helpful Google, and try searching "80s grammar".

Well, a bunch of results came back, so I tried searching "80's grammar".

And I found this.

In case you don't know, Google has a handy feature of determining the relevance of links by highlighting your search word in the contents of said links.

In order to be as efficient as possible, it creates a little "..." in between large chunks of text.

So here's what I found:

"I promised to give ... head"

It's true! Look at the above link and look at the seventh link, entitled "Why Grammar?"

The original text reads:
I promised to give them a copy and when they left I shook my head and thought to myself, "Another product of the 70's, and the 80's, and the 90's, and....."

I never knew grammar could be so.. dirty!
