PONDERING: Zombies

OK, so if zombies eat brains, and everyone who is bitten by a zombie becomes a zombie, what happens when the zombies run out of people?

I certainly don't think they are clever enough to start farming/breeding people, as they have fairly one-track minds.

But we never get that far, do we? The zombies always get "killed" via shotgun blasts to the head.
